About Se7en Symbols

Adults over 60 deserve better health information than they're currently getting — and they are fully capable of using it.

My grandmother was one of the strongest people I’ve ever known.

Not strong in the way people mean when they say it about someone who lifts weights or runs marathons. Strong in the way that actually matters — stubborn in the best sense, sharp, funny, completely herself. She raised a family, built a life, and never once asked for help she didn’t need.

Then Parkinson’s started taking things from her. Slowly at first, then all at once.

I watched someone who had always moved through the world with confidence become uncertain of her own body. The tremors. The stiffness in the morning that never fully went away. The way she’d hesitate before standing up, doing a quiet calculation the rest of us never noticed. She didn’t complain. She adapted. But I saw what it cost her — and I couldn’t stop thinking about how much of it might have been slowed down, or softened, if she’d had the right information earlier.

Not generic information. Not “stay active and eat well.” Real, specific, research-backed guidance written for a body that has been through seven decades of living — not a 30-year-old in a gym.

That gap is why Se7en Symbols exists.

Who I Am

My name is Shaun. I’m a Facilities Manager by profession — FMP certified, with nearly a decade of experience managing large corporate campuses for some of the most demanding clients in the world. I know what it means to keep complex systems running. I know how to read technical information, cut through the noise, and translate what matters into something actionable.

I brought that same approach to senior health and fitness — because the research is out there. It’s sitting in journals and clinical studies and university papers. It just isn’t being translated into something a real person can actually use.

So I started doing that translation myself.

What This Site Is Actually For

Se7en Symbols is built around one belief: adults over 60 deserve better health information than they’re currently getting — and they’re fully capable of using it.

Every article I publish here is written with a specific person in mind. Someone who might have a bad knee, or be recovering from surgery, or be noticing that things feel harder than they used to. Someone who is intelligent, capable, and tired of being talked down to by content that treats every senior as a liability to be managed rather than a person who wants to keep living fully.

The topics I cover — sarcopenia, protein, resistance training, inflammation, joint health, recovery — aren’t random. They’re the areas where the science is clearest, the stakes are highest, and the gap between what research shows and what most people actually know is widest.

My grandmother deserved that information when she needed it. So does yours.

A Note on How I Write

I’m not a doctor, and I’m not pretending to be one. Every article on this site includes a medical disclaimer, and I always recommend consulting your physician before making changes to your exercise or nutrition routine — especially if you’re managing a chronic condition.

What I am is someone who takes this seriously, reads the research carefully, and writes for real people rather than algorithms.

If even one article on this site helps someone move better, feel stronger, or stay independent a little longer — that’s the whole point.

Welcome to Se7en Symbols. I’m glad you’re here.
