Three Pillars of A Successful Wellness Plan

The 3 Pillars of a Successful Wellness Plan

As I mentioned in the last blog, planning is an absolute must. Knowing what you’re going to do before you get there puts you in a position to succeed before even showing up. There’s no ifs ands or buts about what you’re going to do because you already have a plan. Today I am going to share 3 pillars that I follow to get ahead and have a successful wellness plan.

1. Movement with Intent

Stop “just showing up” to the gym. Whether it’s a 3-day split, a running schedule, or a daily yoga flow, know exactly what movements you are doing before you step on the mat. This ensures you are progressing (progressive overload) rather than just spinning your wheels. If you show up without a plan you will waste time walking around the gym, looking up workouts or instructional videos or any type of guidance since you aren’t prepared. This isn’t going to fly if you plan on making any progress.

2. The Nutritional Blueprint

You don’t need a restrictive diet; you need a meal strategy. Knowing that you have the ingredients for a high-protein breakfast or a healthy dinner waiting for you prevents the “I’m tired, let’s just order takeout” trap.

Planning your meals so you know exactly what you’re having and when you’re having it is one small item on your weekly checklist to set you ahead. No more guessing or fumbling with seeing what is in the fridge to eat. Planning your meals or even prepping them ahead of time saves you time and money.

3. Scheduled Recovery

Burnout happens when rest is an afterthought. A real plan schedules sleep, hydration, and rest days just as strictly as the workouts themselves. Getting regular sleep and drinking water throughout the day may not seem like a lot but it compounds over time and these habits are nutritional foundations and building blocks for an overall better you and better health.
